Hi today i received a call on my bsnl landline from 1409430008 telephone number claiming to be from claims department. They were speaking in hindi. They asked my policy details to be send by email. I refused and they started abusing. I disconnected the call and searched internet. I found this website thanks for the information provided. The telephone department must track these calls and arrest the people behind these activities.
Same story with me. I said I will follow up with LIC through my agent and disconnected.
Hi Today I received a call to my mobile from 140 980 1051 telephone number. They are speaking in Hindi, I ask them to speak in English. Immediately they started abusing then I disconnected. Later I found this website and thanks for updating.

I got call from +91 1408430055.But caller voice is not audible. I had reconnected to the same number, but saying like, Please check your dialed number.

Today i received a call from this +14084017151 number when i recieved the call, some computer is speaking in unknown language. Suddenly i disconnect the call. I am afraid about they can do some fraud with me or can theaf few information from my mobile. I don't think through only receiving a call anyone can get detail from mobile. Pleae suggest.

Today I recieved call from 911408970076..saying that there was a murder, he recorded the video and now people are behind..I feel this is fraud call and disconnect...now I found on this site that this 140 series itself is a fraud

This types of calls are coming for last about 5 years. I even complained to ICICI Prudential in writing, on behalf of which call received , but no action was taken by them not even informed me any outcome. I feel somebody in these organisation may also be involved in such fraud calls
I also received a call start from number 140. I didn't receive it.

I got call from 08271539437 , the guy said that he is calling from Naukri. Com.he is fraud guy, said to register with 1800/- and get joining letter to Tata motors.

Today I received a call from 1409305544 .Caller said she is from a govt department and started telling something about combined Provident fund(never heard of) She orddered me to speak in Hindi . I said I understand if spoken slowly . I asked her to tranfer the call to higher up who can speak in English. She said she is the authority and she cannot scan any letter and send it to me . Then She stared abusing and disconnected the call .
Got a call from number 1409305549 from a person claiming to be from the Provident Fund office. This person said a PF claim file has come from my home state (did not tell what the state is). Mentioned an amount of Rs 3,50,000. I informed that I have not made such a claim and she hung up.
Google searches showed that there is an EPFO fraud scam going on

Looks like the scammers ask for UAN number, mobile number, Aadhar number etc pretending to transfer some amount to your bank account.
TrueCaller showed above number as coming from Bajaj FinServ not sure why.
I received a call from 1409305544 today on my landline. The lady spoke only in Hindi and claimed to be from a govt PF department. She mentioned my name correctly and said that my PF cancelation has come to her in Delhi, after being transferred from my city!! I put the phone down. Beware of such fraudulent calls!!
I received many calls from no starting from 140. Even after I block them I still get from other no starting from 140. Today also I received call from +91 1409 305549. Either I do not take call or in case of accidently lifting phone I always say that I am 90+ age and bedridden and have no policy, credit card, bank balance and work only with little cash. Moment they listen they themselves cutoff the call.
For everyone: I also have a number 140-620-1568 and I did the research to these 140 calls, they are all placed through a call service called ‘Umail’ , it’s an answering service you can download on your mobile phone but also they have a phone service they provide for a fee that is untraceable because if someone try’s to back search the number it will only go to Umail service in Dehli with no response from the company. I am in Georgia United States of America, if any of you know and get the Indian government to shut down the company Umail many Indians can creep their Rupees from being stolen. Thank you all.
Also, Africans from Nigeria are using this service to pose as men and women from around the world looking for love and they are also posing as soldiers from different countries in a combat zone needing funds for different reasons but what ever you do and please pass around this knowledge to family and friends, DO NOT SEND THEM MONEY AT ALL, THEY ARE AFRICAN THIEVES.
Today I received a call on my landline from 1409305549 claiming to be from a office ECOI related to Insurance claims from New Delhi. The lady introduced herself as Myra Sharma and told that I was eligible for additional bonus of Rs.2,45,950/- from LIC. I fell pray and has given my mobile number. She told me that her Senior Manager will call me on Monday. She has given me one file number for identification to talk to her manager. Let me see what he would talk to me. I will share it after wards.
